Heard you and tend to agree with most of what you say. Like you, I do hope that Congress doesn't get carried away with corporate 'american' culture.
The natural/typical Indian will put forth his own obstacles if they did...hopefully. He or she is too steeped in tradition/conservatism to embrace the average american way of spending.
But then there is no telling. Erosion of values usually happen in tiny nano bits that you tend to be unaware until a crisis emerges.
I am not an Indian Indian but a Malaysian Indian but did my college in Chennai and have friends involved in politics so I follow whatever is happening there.
My fav person now is Omar Abdullah....you could say I am smitten with his rather forthright demeanour and a certain boyish charm!
Hey! If you drop by in Kuala Lumpur do give me a call. Would be interesting to know your views on things Malaysian/Singapore too.

definitely congress has emerged as a big single political party. congress would definite give good stability
